Cardiac Care Technology measures how well a heart is functioning and monitors heart rate.Technicians here measure how well a patient’s heart is functioning. Cardiac Care Technicians are the medical professionals who administer various tests that assist the doctor in diagnosis. Cardiac Care Technicians assist physicians during invasive cardiovascular testing, where a tube is inserted into one of the blood vessels that carry blood into the heart. Once doctors insert the catheter, Technicians monitor patients’ heart rates and blood pressure, looking for any signs of
trouble or distress.

Duration – 4 Years (8 Semesters)

Eligibility criteria: 10+2 in Science stream from a recognized educational Board with Physics, Chemistry, English and Biology as the main subjects at 10+2 level. A minimum aggregate score of 50% (45% for SC/ST/OBC candidates) at the 10+2 level.

Scope – Since this course deals with the care and treatment of diseases related to the cardiopulmonary system and involves procedures such as diagnosis, medicine, surgery, rehabilitation, patient education etc. There are plenty of jobs available in government as well as private sector. B.Sc. Cardiovascular Technology course helps students in acquiring better management skills for different cardiac disorders.

Career prospects and Job Opportunities
A cardiac care Technologist operates and monitors relevant equipments using during diagnosis and surgery. They monitor vital signs such as pulse rate, heart beat etc. Sometime they are also involved in patient rehabilitation & education. A Cardiac Technologists assist physicians in diagnosing and treating cardiac (heart) and peripheral vascular (blood vessel) conditions, preparing patients for open-heart surgery, implanting pacemakers, monitoring patients during
these procedures, performing cardiac stress tests and electrocardiograms, using and maintaining the medical equipment that catches irregular heartbeats working in laboratory settings on real patients, management of various cardiac disorders having complex diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.

Cardiac Technologists use diagnostic cardiology equipment and monitor resultant data, typically in assistance to a physician. Cardiac tech jobs are available in a variety of specialties including invasive cardiology, vascular technology, echocardiography, non-invasive cardiology. After completing this program, you may get recruited by –Government Hospitals, Private Hospitals, Emergency Medical Services as Cardiac Care Technician, Cardiac Care Technologist, Medical Sonographer and also as Hospital Administrator.
