Introduction of B.Sc RESPIRATORY CARE TECHNOLOGY

This program deals with respiratory problems, its diagnosis and treatment. The course trains students in areas related to respiratory care. Respiratory system forms an integral part of our body. Like any other part, this system is also prone to problems, trauma and diseases.
Respiratory care involves aspects such as evaluation, diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation of patients. For diagnosis and treatment, relevant equipment are used. The main task of a Respiratory Care Technologist is to assist qualified Doctors in procedures like evaluation, diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation of patients.

  • The respiratory system is prone to diseases and conditions such as – trauma, bronchitis, asthma, pneumonia etc. In order to prevent and treat such conditions, healthcare professionals use the following procedures – Evaluation, Diagnosis, Treatment (Surgery, Medicine etc), Rehabilitation, Patient and Family Education

Procedures such as diagnosis and surgery are carried out by qualified Doctors (Specialists). Respiratory Care Technologists are known to assist these specialists with procedures such as – diagnosis, treatment, rehabilitation and education.

A skilled Respiratory Care Technologist is capable of carrying out tasks such as –
