Nursing Assistant
A Diploma in Nursing Assistant program is typically designed to provide students with the knowledge and skills needed to work as nursing assistants or nursing aides in a healthcare setting. The program usually takes about 1-2 years to complete and involves both classroom and clinical training.
During the program, students will learn about basic nursing principles, anatomy and physiology, medical terminology, infection control, and patient care techniques. They will also receive hands-on training in clinical settings, where they will learn to assist patients with activities of daily living, take vital signs, administer medications, and provide basic medical care under the supervision of licensed nurses.
Upon completion of the program, graduates may be eligible to take a certification exam to become a certified nursing assistant (CNA) or a nursing assistant registered (NAR). CNAs and NARs work in a variety of healthcare settings, such as hospitals, nursing homes, and home health agencies, providing direct care to patients under the supervision of registered nurses or licensed practical nurses.
Overall, a Diploma in Nursing Assistant program can be a great way to start a career in the healthcare field and provide a solid foundation for further education and career advancement in nursing.
